My friends just had a new baby (about six weeks premature but doing fine) named Will. I made him this hat and decided to use the same color and cat theme I used to make his big brother Ben’s puppet. It turned out super cute!

Baby Hat with Cat Ears

Materials:

  • 1 skein of Classic Yarns RY Cashsoft DK yarn (50g – 130m/142yds)
  • US size 5 40″ circular needles

Pattern:

These instructions require the use of the Magic Loop technique.

1. Cast on 80 and join in the round.

2. Knit until hat measures 4″ from roll (don’t pull down the roll). (After you’ve knit about 8 rows you can place a marker. It’s typically best to put it in the middle of the front needle so it stays in place between two stitches.)
