I started this afghan for my mom eight months ago. I would get distracted by work, life, wedding planning, etc…. I finally finished it a few weeks ago. It’s getting shipped to Mom this week. I got the pattern from a Leisure Arts booklet, which I purchased at a Michael’s store. You can also buy it at Amazon.com. My sister-in-law commented that it looks like a plate she gave me (pictured below). It looks like my inspiration, but it is completely coincidental. I had started with the speckled section, using one strand of brown and one of off-white. I didn’t like the stark contrast and decided to make the final two sections solid blocks of color.
